Bluetooth™ Advertising Software supports the Microsoft and Widcomm Bluetooth stacks only. This is mainly the reason why you receive the " Bluetooth™ device not found or driver is not installed. Application will be closed." or " No Bluetooth™ Radio. This software will not function without a fully installed Bluetooth™ dongle. Please ensure that this is installed and then restart the software. Do you want to install Widcomm driver?" error when you start Bluetooth™ Advertising Software for the first time.
To see which stack is installed on your computer, please follow these steps on Windows XP:
If your computer has another Bluetooth™ Stack. You may still be able to use the same hardware (Bluetooth™ device) with Bluetooth™ Advertising Software only if you have Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or newer version of Windows. To accomplish this, you will need to uninstall the Bluetooth™ drivers for your Bluetooth™ device (Bluetooth™ Dongle or Integrated Bluetooth™) and see if the Microsoft Stack will automatically detect your device and install the correct drivers for it. If you successfully accomplished this, it will mean that Bluetooth™ Advertising Software should work correctly now under Microsoft Bluetooth™ Stack.
If you don't have Windows XP (SP2) or a newer version You may consider upgrading your operating system to Windows XP Service Pack 2. If you can't do this, this means that the only choice left is to buy another Bluetooth™ dongle that can run using WidComm Stack. These Bluetooth™ dongles usually come with a very cheap price.
